Compost

What is compost? How can it be used? How is it made?

Compost is a material made from the aerobic bio-degradation of plant material. Compost is to be used as a soil amendment to your existing soil.  Organic Compost is ideal for vegetable crops, ornamental, trees, sod or lawn.  This material is the perfect additive to Florida’s acidic soils.  It has high levels of Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium along with other micro-nutrients. and typically no further fertilizer is required. This is an organic compost that was aerobically composted .  We bring the compost up to 120 to 150 degrees over an extended period of time to remove any pathogens and weed seeds in the material.  We follow the USEPA reg 40 CFR Part 503 for compost. UF/IFAS states that most Florida soils benefit from the addition of organic matter, such as compost.  Organic Compost sold by the yard /  bulk or  bag.  This material has been used in Certified Organic Farms and is approved by QCS, OMRI Listed, Compost Certified  and approved by other governing agencies. This is a perfect material for planting vegetables, ornamental plants and before sod.

Not all Compost is created equally.  Don’t settle for the rest! Our O-r-g-a-n-i-c Compost is Aged. Compost needs to be aged, just like good wine. Our compost has been in the making for over a year. Don’t go with the guys who want a quick buck and are trying to make organic compost in 30 or 60 days. Go with the Best the first time and start seeing the benefits immediately.

Do you have a lawn, home garden, farm or full blown nursery? Our compost will help you grow beautiful vegetables, fruit trees, ornamentals, trees, sod and lawn. Our customers have been raving about how quick the seeds germinate, how fast the flowers bloom and how full their plants have become.

Based on thorough assessments conducted by the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA’s SOIL TESTING LABORATORY, the nutrient value of our organic compost is determined to be well above average and suitable for a variety of uses and applications where soils and composts are needed. This material is a perfect additive to Florida’s acidic soil

High levels of Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium – typically no additional fertilizer will be needed for any of your crops you are growing.

Why do you need compost? Well, have you noticed your yard is a big sandbox? That’s why – it’s that simple!   How do you use Compost? The first way is simple to add it to your plant as you are planting – dig out the bad dirt and add in the good dirt aka compost . The second way is to continue to nourish it with a “donut” or “tire” type of ring around the tree or plant – place it around the area of the leaf line or tree line in a big circle.  Do this every 3 to 4 months or once you see that the compost is flat – just add some more – you will be amazed by the results!

Beautiful screened organic compost – we use 1/2″ screens for the best possible outcome. You will see some mulchiness in the compost – that’s GOOD – that’s why it’s called ORGANIC MATTER!  That is like a time capsule – it will continue to decompose and release all the great nutrients.
